About Infant Feeding Response

Infant Feeding Response (IFR) provides urgent infant feeding and lactation support via telehealth for families who need professional guidance without delay.

Feeding difficulties often arise suddenly — frequently in the evenings or overnight — when access to face-to-face services is limited and parents are left unsure whether what they are experiencing is normal, manageable, or requires further medical attention.

Infant Feeding Response was created to bridge this gap by offering midwife-led infant feeding support online, when families need it most.

Urgent, midwife-led infant feeding support via telehealth

Infant Feeding Response offers online infant feeding and breastfeeding support, delivered through structured telehealth consultations designed to address urgent feeding concerns.

Support may include:

Breastfeeding and lactation difficulties

Painful, unsettled, or suddenly difficult feeds

Concerns about infant feeding behaviour

Feeding-related anxiety or parental worry

Support while awaiting in-person appointments

Appointments are calm, focused, and evidence-based, with time to explore concerns fully and without judgement.

Each consultation includes practical guidance and a clear plan for the next 24–48 hours, tailored to the individual family and situation

Clinical triage, safety, and signposting

A core part of Infant Feeding Response is clinical triage.

During every consultation, feeding concerns are carefully assessed to determine whether they sit within the scope of infant feeding and lactation support, or whether further assessment or escalation is required.

Where concerns fall outside the remit of telehealth infant feeding support, this is explained clearly and families are supported to access the most appropriate service. This may include signposting or escalation to:

GP or community healthcare services

Maternity or neonatal services

Urgent care or emergency services

Specialist infant feeding or medical professionals

Infant Feeding Response does not replace medical or emergency care.

The safety of both baby and parent is always the priority.

About the practitioner

Infant Feeding Response is delivered by a registered midwife with extensive experience supporting families through infant feeding and breastfeeding challenges.

I am currently an IBCLC Exam Candidate, working towards International Board Certified Lactation Consultant certification, and provide infant feeding and lactation support within professional scope, evidence-based practice, and clear clinical boundaries.

My approach is calm, non-judgemental, and grounded in both clinical experience and an understanding of how vulnerable feeding difficulties can feel — particularly during out-of-hours periods.

How Infant Feeding Response fits alongside your care

Infant Feeding Response is designed to complement existing healthcare services, not replace them.

Families may use IFR:

For urgent reassurance and feeding guidance outside normal hours

While waiting for in-person appointments

To help decide whether further medical care is needed

To stabilise feeding concerns and plan safe next steps

Support is always individualised and focused on what matters most in the moment.
